hello and welcome back to wpc my name is jay and in this video i'm going to show you how to use an anti-static wristband and why you should be doing so now to keep it simple an anti-static wristband is used to make sure that the voltage difference in your body and the computer is balanced out its overall purpose is essentially to prevent the buildup of static electricity near sensitive components in your computer that have cost you a lot of money the components in your computer are very sensitive and the slightest bit of electrostatic discharge can cause damage and render a component unusable and we don't want that with that out of the way let's show you how to use one now the first step is to adjust the band to be tight enough on your wrist once you've done this proceed to slide it onto your wrist with the metal part touching your skin now you can have it worn anywhere on your body not
