before working on the laptop make sure the power adapter is removed and the laptop is turned off for this project you will need a phillips head screwdriver and a size t 5 star screwdriver turn the laptop over remove the 10 screws on the bottom of the laptop carefully lift the base cover away from the laptop parts mentioned in this video can be found at parts people comm or the link in the description below unplug the battery carefully remove the ribbon cable loosen the four heatsink screws remove the heatsink from the motherboard remove the two fan screws unplug the DC jack cable and the fan cable remove the fan from the laptop you will need to clean the CPU and heatsink and reapply new heat sink compound before replacing the VESA reroute the DC jack cable plug in the fan and DC jack cable replace the two fan screws replace the heatsink and tighten down the four screws in the order list
