Gitzo GT1830 Series 1 Basalt 3 Section Tripod (Replaces GT1932)

all right taking a look at the difference between my gitzo tripods got a carbon g1128 mark ii made in france and then a basalt a gt 1840c made in italy now they're about the same size you can see the basalts a little bit shorter so pack abilities a little bit better and they actually weigh the same about two pounds 10 ounces for each of those and what you get actually for standing height uh is about 45 inches with the carbon and 37 inches with the basalt and that is not with the center column so it could go higher for each but so about the same weight you're getting you're almost 10 inches more of height which can make a difference if you're out in the field all day and all obviously price wise too just the quality the finish everything seems a lot better on the carbon you know the locks are much smoother everything's just you know nicer these locks especially on the little ones just ki
