my name is Dan Kass karela I'm from camp Lex fiber-optics here in Saugerties New York today I want to demonstrate some nifty little details about duplex and simplex fiber optics both of what I have here are single mode cables and as you may notice this simplex is one LC connector this duplex is two LC connectors and a little-known trick is that a duplex cable is merely held together by what's this little mating sleeve and you can merely separate out your fibers into two separate cables so for example on this you can see that there's a a mating clip if you look closely holding the two connectors together and they're the same color of the connector but this clip holds them together and you can separate out the connectors gently pulling them apart and this allows you to operate in simplex mode or to take two separate simplex cables and mate them together so that they're duplex the cool par
