this video demonstrates how to replace a battery for the APC UPS backup 1400 before you start you will need the replacement battery and a Phillips head screwdriver okay let's begin first open up the front cover and set it aside next remove the metal plate by first unscrewing the two screws holding it in place you now you can remove the metal plate and set it aside along with the screws gently slide out the old battery partial way so you can disconnect the power cable after disconnecting the cable place the old battery to the side for proper disposal at your local hazardous materials recycling plant now you're ready to install the replacement battery first connect the APC power cable to the replacement battery before sliding it all the way in once the cable is connected slide the replacement battery all the way in being careful not to damage the cable then reinstall the metal plate being
