this is both a step and a step down transformer make sure you are going the correct direction i bought a centrifuge from europe and forgot they used 220 volts there this was a very inexpensive option to fix my problem we have been using it for several months now and it performs without a flaw it's small so it fit on the counter without a problem it doesn't get hot so i can have other equipment around it the only problem i had was when we set it up my tech set it up for 230 to 120 the device took the power without any problems but the centrifuge wasn't working i got called in and noticed the problem once the lines were reversed it has worked flawlessly this is my second one since i bought the unit in 2016. the company did send me a replacement however the 120 volts fuse holder on the back keeps breaking apart into little pieces [Music] i have emailed the company again so try and get anot
