hi everyone I'm Ken with Orion telescopes and in this video I'm talking about the Orion white light solar filters designed to safely directly observe the Sun and the photosphere of the Sun this is a like I said a white light filter it is coated with a nickel chromium alloy which transmits one one thousandth of 1% of light so just barely any light it makes the Sun look about the same brightness as the moon and it only transmits the visible portion of the wavelengths so you're blocking out all infrared or dangerous ultraviolet light so this this is a safe safe way to view the Sun as long as you use it correctly it has safety screws attached to it so this will fit pretty much all of our telescopes including even some of our binoculars if you get the right size it's designed to fit telescopes up to about a quarter inch smaller than the diameter of the solar filter itself so what you want to
