in this video we're going to look at the various types of diffusion available from leaf filters and how to use them I like working with hard lights because of the control they give but what I don't like are the hard edges to the shadows what's often needed is the control and beam shape of a hard light but without these pin sharp edges to the shadows to solve this problem I use to 5/3 Hampshire frost what it does is just soften the edge of the shadow without losing the shape of the light beam it also helps to get rid of fringy on some lights that's where the edge of the beam has a very slight colored outline the sheet of Hampshire helps to lose it it comes in various strengths but even the full strength to 5/3 doesn't alter the overall softness much if you need a softer 8 but still want a shaped beam then Hollywood frost 255 is ideal in the same way if you have to overlap beams or more c
