Levi Whitney here with uphill cinema today we're going to talk about gels and specifically CTO versus CTS so let me start off by answering the question what are gels what gels are is a piece of plastic material usually it's a polyester or polycarbonate material that has been placed in front of the light and for me I personally only use gels I very rarely find lights that are dual color temperature and the reason for that is because usually not all the time but usually the LED lights of nowadays there are stronger output and luma in one color temperature when working with gels there are three basic gels that you'll work with a lot and you'll hear these gels a ton but and it's always the acronyms so you have CTO which stands for color temperature orange you have cts which stands for color temperature straw and then you have CT B which stands for color temperature blue now the strong one c
