let's talk about liko's lens designations for a moment leica is unusual in the lens world they give their lenses names according to the aperture the maximum aperture that the lens has which is i think is unique uh in the camera world i'm not sure about that but i i would bet decent money on it so here's how it works their fastest lenses at f 1.4 are called sumalux you'll hear people just talk about a lux i've got a 50 lux that means it's a 50 millimeter f 1.4 lens next down in the lineup and kind of more standard everyday lens is sumicron and that's an f 2.0 so if somebody says i've got a 35 millimeter cron that means they've got a 35 millimeter f 2.0 maximum aperture lens then you get a little weird in there they have the elmarit which is generally an f 2.8 maximum aperture lens so this elmar at 90 is an f 2.8 ninety millimeter lens there's an elmar which i believe is even a smaller ma
