Let's Carve A Face DVD

hi welcome to Charon my art today we're going to do eight steps to a face whether I'm doing a large face or a small face I always use these same steps so if you can get your piece of wood seven eighths by seven eighths by two or two and a quarter of inches basswood preferably then you can follow right along and do these eight steps and learn how to do your faces a lot better okay we start with this block about seven eighths by seven eighths by two or two and a quarter inches tall that's about how tall most of my little guys are but this is step by step how to do a face so to get this block in preparation we have to make some facets cut the corners off of the top and the bottom of all all sides then make a deep V and I push my knife through the wood on all four of these corners okay so we've got a facet facet faceted what that is is places for us to put our cuts now we have to number it
