let's set up this sony alpha camera for off-camera flash work okay what I'm going to do is I'm going to just press the function key here and then select the flash sitting and come in and drop that down to wireless flash now this camera has a popular pop-up built-in flash so we'll just need to ignore that because we're going to be using flash on the hot shoe as the controller I'm using the HP L dash of 20 M as my controller flash so we'll just select that setting okay now we're in aperture priority now we can go in and set the ambient exposure which can be different to the flash exposure for instance if we want to dark and the background behind the subject that we are lighting with the flash I simply need to go in and drop that down to make a nice dark dramatic background I'll start with a minus 1.3 evey or stops there now you'll notice if I come back into that via function key and drop
