The MintyBoost kit from Adafruit Industries includes all the electronic parts necessary to build your own MintyBoost: a small & simple (but very powerful) USB charger for your iPod (or other mp3 player), camera, cell phone, and any other gadget you can plug into a USB port to charge.

The charger circuitry and 2 AA batteries fit into an Altoids gum tin, and will run your iPod for hours, 2.5x more than you'd get from a 9V USB charger! You can use rechargable batteries too.

Kit comes un-assembled and is suitable for beginners. Some soldering tools are necessary but even if you've never soldered before it should be pretty easy.

okay so today we are going to be making the minty boost from Adafruit Industries so open up this anti step back and dump everything out okay so what we're gonna start by doing is taking out one of the capacitors and not the electrolytic we're going to actually use the ceramic disk capacitors this one this one's pretty tiny what we're gonna do is we're gonna stick it right in the middle of where the IC will go right there and then what we're gonna do is we're going to bend the leads this as possible which it is we are going to bend the leads outwards so that when we flip it over to solder it it does not fall out so just like so alright so we flip it over and we have it and it has not fallen out so let me grab some solder here and the iron is already heated up and we're just gonna solder this really quickly you is we're gonna take the tip of the soldering iron and make sure it touches the
