in this video we'll install an internal hard drive in the next video we'll get it set up on Windows 8.1 first here are some basic supplies and tools we'll need note that you may not need the power cable in your installation I will not need it in mind because I already have a power cable available in my case the hard drive to be installed a SATA power cable SATA data cable twist ties or velcro ties a screwdriver and optionally a grounding bracelet now that we have our basics together let's get started we first need to power down the computer turn off the power supply switch and unplug the power cable from the power supply I'm plug in your remaining cables from the computer move the computer to a clean and sturdy work area start by removing the panel you may have to remove one or both panels depending on your case I'm going to remove both of mine most computer cases have removable panels
