hello guys welcome to the art of server in today's video I'm going to be replacing the back plane of this system here if you seen my other videos you might recognize the system this is what I call the flash and it's a system it's a first system that I built dedicated to flashing HBA cards with IT firmware and this machine has worked great but I've been looking for ideas to reduce the power consumption of this machine while I'm flashing the HBA cards and so the backplane that this system currently has is what's called a DQ backplane and basically it has a dedicated SATA port for each hard drive port and this is a Super Micro 836 so it has 16 three and a half inch drive bays so there are actually sixteen of these SATA cables that go to four SFF 8087 SAS cables and this is what I've been using to test all the hv8 cards that I sell on my eBay store every card is fully tested with all SAS la
