when I upgraded from Comcast to AT&T u-verse the installation guy put a switch in because AT&T I guess delivers it over cat5 so each of the cable boxes needed to have a cat5 cable and there's four ports on the modem and then if I had which I did have I had more stuff that's cabled you needed a switch so there's a switch that goes into my my modem which is this switch right here well actually it's the one that he gave me and I liked how it looked so much because I like that sleek blackish gray look to it that we have there and it looks so much cooler than the blue Netgear switches that they used to have in the past so this one's eight ports and I use it near the modem but then I also bought another switch from my bedroom because the guy put a cat5 drop in my bedroom so that I could plug the cable box into there I also have like this wireless access point that transmits the cable to the o
