this is Ryan with i-vtec and now we're going to go through the process for setting up and leveling an instrument over a known point using an optical plummet which is generally a scope in the side of the instrument that will hit a mirror and give you a line of sight directly down through the hollow centre of the clam so push that little hook out of the way so it's not obscuring your vision roughly set up over your hub rotate the scope so it's facing you and I like to put my toe underneath the instrument as I look through that scope and if the if you can't see the hub go until you can see your toe and then pick up and move this whole instrument until the hub is within sight in my case I'm on the corner of the hub so that's close enough to start now the next step to get my line of sight directly on that point on the ground is to use my leveling screws one at a time to tilt the instrument u
