Nikon AS-23 Speedlight Stand

hi this is gary fong and i had an email from someone who wanted to ask me how do you take the flash off camera and put it on a stand off camera flash gives you these really cool effects you can do ratio lighting you can you know do a lot more with off-camera flash then you can with off on camera because on camera of course is in the same line as your lenses so first step is to of course take the flash off ok so that'll be separate from your camera and now you need to get a light stand now this is a Manfrotto five zero zero one b i like it because it's a full sized light stand but look how short it is and this will basically you know fit into my little flight case and things like that so the legs actually fold up into them into themselves which makes it small now the first adapter piece is a kind of a tripod hole so the problem with your flash of course is that your flash has a hot shoe
