If your MLCC's are measuring low, or out of spec, it may be the result of using incorrect testing equipment. - Basically customers will come to me, stating that they're using a tester a lot like these and they're not capable of providing enough four voltage over the cap. - [Announcer] Instead of using standard meters with tweezer type leads, an LCR meter with an automatic level control is the proper tool for testing MLCCs. These meters will decrease its own impedance until it is lower than the object being tested, and will boost the current through the MLCC until the voltage across it reaches the appropriate testing level.
