The subONE is a compact, powerful subwoofer designed to surpass the performance of many larger, more expensive subwoofers. With a cabinet that is less than 12" x 12" x 12", the subONE delivers awesome sound without taking up all of your floor space. The subONE has all of the features you would expect in a high performance subwoofer, matching a custom 200 watt hybrid amplifier with a powerful, dynamic subwoofer driver to achieve performance that delivers emotional, accurate bass. By spending more on important components, Orb Audio can deliver a subwoofer capable of producing thunderous bass while still retaining the tightness and accuracy often lost in other designs. The subONE can be the star in a rock band or orchestra one moment, and the next it can be recreating those earth shattering Hollywood explosions. Many subwoofers are great at the in-store explosion demo but fall flat when you put through the paces across a variety of media. We designed and tested the subONE extensively to make sure it is a worthy performer no matter what you throw at it. There are two ways to make a subwoofer produce bass. The first is to use a large enclosure and a less expensive driver and amplifier. This is the option taken by many of the mass market companies who need to keep costs down because of the hefty markups of their products on the way to the retail shelf. The second option is to use a smaller enclosure, a better amplifier and a higher quality driver. We started with a sturdy, heavy duty cabinet, but limited its size to about one foot square. Then, we added a fantastic amplifier and a custom driver, which together can move a lot of air and produce deep, tight realistic bass.
