when i reviewed the first amazon echo dot with clock i fell in love with the simple ingenuity of its added led display for ten dollars more than the standard third generation echo dot i could see the time without asking as well as my timers and the outside temperature [Music] not knowing that amazon would replace my new favorite smart speaker in less than a year the echo dot with clock became my go-to holiday gift yet here we are with the entire cylinder echo lineup now shaped into spheres amazon said it based this massive design change on the idea that smart speakers should be both seen and heard but the echo dot with clock already had that visual element going for it no the second echo dot with clock simply took something great and made it more round while the raised display is easier to read i'm not sure it's enough for me to replace all the echo dot with clocks i've already released
