utility blocks are long on features they have the universal head which allows you to fix the shackle in one position like this or if you need to you can convert the block into a swivel block by just taking a standard flat screwdriver I can push on this lock and now I can swivel the block so this allows me to change the configuration of a block practically with my bare hands another feature that I like is a removable Becket if you have a little tackle system like this for a boom bang or a mainsheet you'll frequently have a small ice place on the end of the line the problem is that you can't put the ice place over a fixed Becket in this case you can though because this Becket is removable I can just press down push the pin out and now I can either change out the line or I can put the line on the laundry if I want to clean it or do whatever I want to do put the pin back in it's no big deal
