This length is ideal for thick, soft materials such as insulation, foam, and batting. While other companies make long blades for this purpose, they’re Often made from quick-dulling metal, which means they start overly sharp in order to extend the life of the blade. This dangerous workaround sacrifices user safety. Other ceramic knives also mimic this over sharpened edge. Slice blades have a proprietary grind that is safe to the touch. Our blades start at an effective sharpness and stay there up to 11 times longer than steel, so you can save your fingers and your money. The 10538 Blade, with its Round Tip, protects against punctures and doesn't require special sharps box disposal.
