i bought this to replace my old philips portable blu-ray player i wasn't really that psyched about purchasing it reviews are mixed but after scouring the internet i found out that wow it's really impossible to find a portable blu-ray player sure you can find portable players left and right but not blu-ray players this was actually the only one i could find also while i was busily trying to make my mind up the price suddenly shot up from 229 to 235 dollars the sound quality is very good with my old player i had to use headphones but this sounds excellent when it first arrived i thought the picture sucked you will need to invest a considerable amount of time setting the contrast brightness hue etc which kind of sucks but on the plus side the player does give you complete control to alter the picture according to your particular taste i was very pleased with the outcome once it fiddled wit
