well greetings out there in YouTube land and welcome to today's video on plate resistors they are absolutely essential to the function of any amplifier circuit and as a result you will find them attached to the plates fittingly enough of every single amplification tube in the circuit except of the output tubes and that's a little deceptive because the output transformer primary in that case will act as the plate load resistance recall that the output transformer primary has to be matched to the number and type of output tube with a resistance ranging from 2.5 k to 10k ohms and I think we'll see today why that's important now what makes plate resistors I think a little confusing is they serve two completely separate purposes within the amp circuit one of the purposes is very well recognized and understood and the other is not the more easily understood function is the DC circuit function
