when you're filming something sometimes you want to have the ability to have two different audio sources recorded straight into one camera but how do you actually do that and why might that be useful well the why question is relatively simply answered one of the main things that i can think of is to have a microphone right on top of the camera and also use for example a wireless lav like the rode wireless go that you have on the person that is in front of the camera speaking toward the camera or toward something else so that would be one use case another one would for example be if you have some other audio source let's say you have music playing and you want to have that recorded and at the same time also have a microphone recorded into the camera but you still want to have control over those things in post processing so that you can have those different signals separated and you don't
