Workman HP202S Cross Needle SWR/Watt Meter, Power Meter -1000 Watt

[Music] hello auggies worldwide i'm dave casler amateur radio call sign ke0 og here with another episode of ask dave today i thought we'd take a look at cross needle watt meters slash swr meters and look at how they work and how to read them the this is the typical swr meter with two needles that cross and we'll show how they work let's jump in what we're looking at here is a palstar wm150m it is a typical cross needle swr meter it shows both forward power and reflected power and then the red lines in the middle are swr we're going to take a look at them and how to read them here's an example where the forward power is on the order of 75 watts and the reflected power is about 8 watts and you look where the needles cross and you see it's 1.5 that's probably about 1.75 and then 2 so we're probably looking at a 1.8 to 1 swr with this chart on this next chart we've got about 34 10 20 30 40
