after printing 1000 color cards or 5000 monochrome cards the printer LCD will display clean printer you can still print cards but you should clean the printer as soon as possible to ensure good print results leaving the printer on press and hold the button for 3 seconds the LCD will now display remove ribbon and close head now open the printer lid push the blue release arrow forward and lift up the printhead carriage then remove the ribbon spools and close the printhead carriage after the ribbon is removed the LCD will display empty feeder and press button now open the card feeder lid and remove all but the bottom card this card should remain in the feeder until you press the button to eject it from the printer do not attempt to pull the card out or you may damage the feeder after the cards are removed the LCD will display load cleaning card and feeder now remove the small cleaning card
