all right today we're going to talk about a device that was in pretty much everybody's camera bag though serious about photography back in the film days or even in the beginning of the early digital era and that's the cable release the cable release allows people to take pictures particularly on tripods with less vibration and they do that by screwing into the shutter release of some sort and reducing the amount of effort that goes into taking a picture and releasing the shutter and you know unless you're extremely careful there's always going to be a little bit of depression going down when you're taking the picture and the cable release reduces that amount of vibration greatly it also can allowed on a bulb setting to take long exposures where otherwise you would usually have pretty severe vibration by trying to hold the shutter down for you know half a minute or minute or or whatever
