hey guys welcome back to another video in our ongoing series on setting up your new turntable today we're gonna be looking at this bad boy right here from Hudson hi-fi this is the double-sided protractor strobe disc I'm gonna show you what it is and exactly how to use it you're not gonna want to miss this [Music] reason why you would want a strobe disc such as this one here from Hudson hi-fi is to verify or to set the correct speed of your record player now some record players come in with a built-in strobe function along the side of the platter others do not such as this one this one even has a pitch control but no way to verify that so the Hudson high-5 stroboscopic disc does a great job of helping you set adjust and verify your turntable speed so the first thing you're gonna want to do is take off the felt platter mat because this has a certain thickness that's designed to replicate
