before setting up your Garmin speed sensor first make sure that it has a new battery installed it uses a standard cr2032 battery place the sensor on top of your wheel hub and pull the strap around the hub to secure the sensor you can install this sensor on either wheel but since you may want to use this on a trainer it's best to install it on the rear wheel once installed spin the wheel to check for proper clearance a green LED light will flash for five seconds to let you know it's working you're now ready to pair it with your Garmin cycling computer
