How to Use the Leak detector
First Install the 4 AAA batteries then turn the knob clockwise to turn on the leak detector, after 6 seconds, it turns into stand-by mode and begins to beep regularly. Then you can start detecting the leak.
Q:Turns on and beeps but wont detect R12 even in high concentration when released from system valve.
Note: The detector will beep regularly at a slow frequency when turn it on. If leak detected, it will beep in a higher frequency. (2 beeps per second when the detector is open, 10 beeps per second when detect the leak)
The sensitivity increases from 1 to 7 in sequence
As this Freon leak detector is designed with corona sensor, the probe should be very close to the gas leak area. Leakage Warning
When the gas leakage detected, beeping will become more frequency, meanwhile the lights flash
The battery voltage indicator:
The light on the front panel is used for leakage warning instructions and battery voltage.
Green-the battery voltage is normal, suitable for the job.
Orange-the battery voltage is close to the limit work, need to be replaced as soon as possible.
It will respond to all halogenated (contains Chlorine of Fluorine) refrigerants. This includes, but is not limited to:
CFCs e.g.R12, R11,R500,R503 etc. HCFCs e.g. R22,R123, R124,R502 etc. HFCs e.g. R134a, R404s, R125 etc.
lends such as AZ-50. HP62. MP39 etc.
Detect Ethylene Oxide gas leaks in hospital sterilizing equipment (it will detect the halogenated carrier gas).
Detect SF-6 in high voltage circuit breakers.
Detect most gases that contain chlorine, fluorine and bromine (halogen gases).
