you put on the spindle of your turntable. The goal is to increase the contact
between your record and the platter. So what are the benefits? Well, first you are less likely to get slippage. Second, fewer vibrations
which mean fewer resonances. And third, inertia. The extra weight
means a more consistent speed, which means reduced wow and flutter.
