hi I'm John for circuit magic.com today I'm going to show you how to use a PIR motion sensor along with an Arduino to detect invisible infrared light that means it can detect any movement around it in this project I'll turn on the LED whenever the PIR sensor detects any movement it's a good way to learn digital input and output in this project input is the PIR sensor and output is the LED so here's the stuff I'll use to make this prototype in Arduino Uno some jumper wire one LED and of course the PIR motion sensor the PIR sensor has three pins the VCC the ground and the output pin in the middle ok let's connect them up I'm connecting the VCC pin into the 5 volt of the Arduino and the ground pin into the ground pin now I'm connecting the output pin of the PIR sensor into the digital pin number 3 finally place the LED on the Arduino the positive pin of the LED I'll connect to the digital
