so i recently bought a canary flex camera and these cameras are made for both indoor and outdoor i'm going to use it outdoor and also you can use the battery that is provided inside or you can just plug it in like a normal camera i want to plug it in because i don't have to worry about charging the battery all the time canary offers an eight foot long cable which is kind of short they don't offer another power cord and you also cannot just use another usb even though it's a usb on this end that plugs into the socket this is not usb this is magnetic so it's a specialized end so you have to use their cord so the only other option is and other people have said you can't plug this into a another usb extender that it won't work i haven't tried that but that's what i've read so your only option if you need a longer cord and your power supply is further than eight feet is by an extension cord
