hi I'm Andrew Coles and welcome to audio trends TV review today we're going to show you how to measure for a replacement belt on most generic Japanese turntables so first we take the mat and the platter off and remove any old belt that might have worn out and stretched sometimes they can break down and you'll have a whole little flaky bits in there one thing that you should do is try and clean any residue of the old belt off the underside of the platter and then so the tape measure just measure the diameter of the rim where the belt sits and that's about 210 mil which equates when you're wearing a belt to about six hundred and fifty nine millimeter total length belt and when you get your new belt it should be just firm enough that it will stay on the platter for you when you turn it up the other way and carefully insert the platter on there and most of the turntables will give you a lit
