The player boasts a sleek, round housing with an attractive white cover that snaps down securely during playback. More significantly, the unit plays more than just prerecorded CDs, with compatibility for both CD-R/RW discs and compressed MP3 files burned onto a CD-R/RW. The expanded playback options give users access to far more of their digital music library each time they leave the house. Active users will also appreciate the anti-skip system and its related backup memory function (45 seconds for CDs and 100 seconds for MP3s), which combine to ensure a disruption-free listening experience while jogging or driving.

At the core of the SL-SX480W's audio performance is Panasonic's advanced D.sound technology, which comprises four main components: a digital amplifier that reduces distortion for a clearer overall sound; the bass-enhancing facility of the S-XBS super bass boost and the digital audio gain control; and an MP3 remastering function that restores much of the lost fidelity of compressed MP3 audio files. The company also added a function called H.Bass, which reproduces the series of harmonic bass components that most headphones and compact speakers can't touch. hey everybody Ontario's elevators here and today I've got two panasonic portable CD players to show you the first one here I just picked up a couple days ago at the Whitby Value Village it is a SL - s1 40 from the early to mid 90s I would estimate that it was probably made around 1993 although it could have been made as late as 1995 there's no manufacturer date on it and this one does not have any sort of anti skip on it so you could not go running with this one here's the top and got the extra base logo on them it advertises that this is a heat resistant polycarbonate body and this is obviously part of their mash series where here's the back this thing is a bit of a fingerprint magnet not much to see under here there's the info which you probably can't read because of the way it is maybe if I get it positioned right you can and of course here's more info on it made in Japan like a lot
