The Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR,
was the second high-performance f/4 zoom, launched on the G lineup; after the amazing
top telephoto 200-400mm f/4G, made for professional sports and wildlife; and before the 24-120mm
f/4G; all sporting vibration reduction. Also coming as a lighter, smaller and cheaper
alternative to the the 24-14mm f/2.8G, this new 16-35mm was the first wide-angle zoom
to sport vibration reduction; making it easier to work under low-light. At 82 x 125mm of 680 grams of mostly plastics,
the first thing we notice on the AF-S 16-35mm f/4G is the size; far from compact, and meant
for business. The external plastic shell makes it resistant
to scratches and resilient in case of impact, and it’s much easier to handle than the
gigantic 14-24mm. The usability is also easy with two operational
rings on the barrel, one near the camera moving to focal length from 16mm to 35
