here is a sony ax33 camcorder which i got off ebay for very cheap because it has a problem it's a very common problem with these camcorders so let's explore it a little bit the problem is on the bottom and you can probably see it quite instantly right there you can see the tripod mount has been pulled out of the camcorder body by having a tripod screw screwed into there too tightly you can see the consequences are quite dramatic the plastic has cracked and even crumbled away around here but the cracked and crumbling plastic now it's easy to just say oh look at that it's made in china this is a cheap piece of junk well the cracked and crumbling plastic is just a symptom of the actual problem and that has nothing to do with cheap plastic as you can see i've already taken out most of the screws i'll take out the last remaining one and with a little bit of luck i'll be able to pull out the
