bakwin high-speed internet meant 0.056 megabits per second download speed I have some old-school telephone line modems 14 point 4 K 33 point 6 K and 56 K its per second the 14 4 doesn't work or at least I can't make it work yet so I want to get the other two talking to each other without an actual phone line I have this early 2000s computer that's running Windows millennium edition but I have a boot disk to get me into Doss let's power this up so the 56k modem is plugged into this computer with an rs-232 port on the back the 33.6 km PC running Linux Mint right now and it does not have an rs-232 port so I'm using this USB to rs-232 to plug in that modem so aside from being plugged into the AC adapter and the rs-232 on two separate computers there's a phone cable coming out of each modem coming to an old-fashioned wall phone jack and i have those wired directly to each other but it won't
