if your light does not come on at dusk or turns off unexpectedly then another light source may be causing the photocell on the sensor to sense daylight use the following tests to determine if the sensor is detecting stray light we'll start by testing the sensor first set the on time control to test mode if your sensor is equipped with dual bright switch it to off if it also has the lamp mode feature switch its normal second walk across the path of the sensor if the sensor is working properly the fixture will come on and remain on five seconds after all motion is stopped if the fixture is working properly in test mode then most likely the photocell is detecting another light source first locate the photocell on the bottom of the sensor head place a small piece of black electrical tape over the photocell to block all light from entering the sensor next set the on time control to one minut
