so what we've got here is a basic half wave dipole so you've got the quarter wave here and the quarter wave here add them two up and you've got half wave dipole now these dipoles are really really simple to make and I've showed you how to make them before in some other different projects and they do perform really really well for their size but sometimes we want a dipole antenna that's a little bit more powerful so what I've got in front of me now is actually a longer range dipole antenna and that sould is a longer range dipole antenna this one's actually come out of an antenna that came with my alpha card now it actually starts off the same you've got twenty five millimeters here which is a quarter wave for this shield here which is the ground plane and you've got twenty five millimeters or two wavelength leading up to this coil now after this coil we've got a length of copper that is
