Solid Brass Sextant-Nautical Gift-Astrolabe

hi welcome back to gannon's antics and art online i'm happy to show you today a very neat maritime instrument and most of you know it's a sextant this is solid brass manufactured in the 30s by john parks and sons of liverpool england they were instrument makers to the admiralty primarily chronometers and and navigation instruments such as this sextant one of the things that's so cool about this sextet is that a you've got the original box to keep everything safe but all of these accessories extension tubes filters other tubes now i can't tell you how to use one but this is an extremely cool piece in really nice condition it hasn't been polished so it doesn't have that fakey brass look this looks like the the way it looked in the 50s probably the last time the ship's navigator pulled it out of its box to to shoot a position we have it here with all of these pieces and the original box yo
