hi this is Michael recycle records in Monterrey California today we're going to learn how to replace the belt on your turntable first thing we're going to do is we're going to remove the rubber mat from the platter set it aside here is the belt you can reach it through this little opening this is not a bad belt I'm just showing you how the belt goes on you lift the entire platter off and set it aside there are different types of belts there are different type of turntables this particular one has a fairly small as you can see here some of them are quite long some of them are really really small what you want is you want the belt to fit tightly around this barrel here you don't want it to be too loose you don't want to be exceptionally tight all right what I do is I put my thumb through the opening here set the platter back in its position and then I'm going to put it around the spindle
