hi welcome to the turntable needles calm yes our Excel 1200 review here and it's a very popular turntable that we found at a estate sale we're gonna start by replacing the belt in here the way that you can tell if a belt is bad is you take it off of the belt for the pulley there for the motor and if it just sits there like that that is a loose belt that is about to fail if it hasn't failed already causing playability issues so this belt is probably the original one we're gonna take that out and install a new belt from turntable needles car we're gonna stress that around the hub on the bottom of the platter here maybe sure there's no twists once we get that on just we'll reach in there you stress that over to the motor pulley run around a couple times make sure she's good there now we're gonna replace the needle now the old needle was missing on this guy so we're gonna show you the new n
