hey guys it's Jordan with another vintage project today this is a project one turntable from about 1983-84 it's a belt drive this was purchased at an estate sale really don't know the condition didn't plug it in so we're going to show you the basics of servicing a turntable a belt drive one and what to check what to look for etc the first thing you want to do is ignoring the needle that's really the last thing you check we're gonna take the dust cover off and we're gonna take the mat off and we're gonna take the platter off I'm gonna see what's underneath okay so this is a fairly common thing we see this is what you call belt gu the belt decomposed and turned into tar and it's also all over the rim of the platter looks like it's been ground into the plinth a little bit so that will need to be cleaned off but before we do that if your machine uses a DC motor which would be identified som
