welcome everyone in this video i'm going to talk about platinum-based thermometers so in this setup you can see some arduino based circuit which will be used for this demonstration i have a k-type thermocouple just to introduce you some principles and to show how these thermometers differ from each other and then we have a slightly warmer and slightly colder water just to see that this thing works and just to demonstrate the thermometer so first of all uh this thermometer is as i said it's a platinum thermometer so it's based on platinum and usually the platinum is made into a thin film or a coiled wire or something and that is encapsulated inside a steel shell like you see it here so maybe there is some kind of uh small piece of ceramic and on the surface of the ceramic we have a thin film of uh platinum and then that measures the temperature or maybe there is a ceramic road and around
