hi in this video I'm going to be talking about relays and relays are a very common electronic component and if you're creating any kind of home automation project or if you're using a low voltage microprocessor like an Arduino or Raspberry Pi to control motors and lighting circuits and other effects you're probably going to need to use a relay at some point so there are actually very simple components and effectively there is switch so there are two metal contacts inside the relay which are normally not connected from each other and there's a switch inside here just like in a light switch that connects them together that completes the circuit and the current is able to flow now the difference is in a light switch you are manually flicking a switch to connect the two metal contacts in a relay it's like an electric switch you power a voltage or a power current on one side of the circuit t
