[Music] thanks for watching wooden shop I'm Joshua Farnsworth so when you get started in traditional woodworking there's a lot of tools that you can buy but I want to help you just understand just the basic minimum tools that you need to get started and you can add onto that later but to save money just check out this list on the basic tools so in this I'm going to be this video I'm gonna be talking about getting a try square somewhere between a 9 inch and 12 inch try square these antique metal tri squares are nice because you can use them to mark off say you're wanting to rip the end of a board or actually cut the end of a board to length let me grab a piece of wood to show you and you just lay the tri square on there and scribe a line down with your marking knife and then you're able to cut it to link they're also good for testing the the squareness of a board like that or like that s
