Big Horn 20165 - Marking Gauge - Beech

[Music] this is the crown traditional beach marking gauge it's kind of like the entry-level marking gauge if you will but it does a fantastic job for what it's designed for really simple construction two pieces of Beach a little plastic thumb screw which locks the the base along that shaft and a steel pin which is actually what's going to create those marks there are two strips of brass along the face of this timber and add color you use that piece as a reference point it can be prone to wear and tear and those brass strips really prevent that from from going anywhere and keep it really nice and square there's a fantastic little tool and you use it when you need to replicate an exact distance and create a really nice accurate mark over and over on a piece of timber so the way that you set these up is you're actually wanting to get the distance from the reference face there to the very t
